"Freedom is never more than a generation away from extinction...It must be fought for, protected and handed on for [our children] to do the same"
- Ronald Reagan
Now freedom faces a new threat, and it's our generation's turn to defend it.
No election in the history of the United States is more important than the one this fall. What's at stake is the future of America and our exceptional character as a nation.
The choice is simple:
Voter Update
Bill recently scored a perfect 100% in the 2010 Project Vote Smart Political Courage Test
Should irresponsible politicians be allowed to continue spending the country into bankruptcy? Or should they be replaced by a new Congress elected to repair the damage done and to live within our means?
The answer is obvious.
Professional politicians can't fix the problem. They are the problem.
The record of the last two years speaks for itself: out-of-control federal spending; a government takeover of the nation's healthcare; record debt and deficits; chronic high unemployment; soaring taxes; a misguided energy plan, and a failed border policy that threatens our national security as well as the economy.
Today, America's debt stands at 60 percent of everything we earn as a nation. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that by 2012, our debt will be a staggering 90 percent of everything we earn. The deficit – the difference between what the government takes in and what it spends – is now over $13 trillion and growing steadily.
These are dire warnings. But instead of economizing, Congress spends more. If something isn't done to change current economic policy, the government-spending bubble will burst, as the dot.com and housing bubbles did – and the wreckage this time will be catastrophic.
I'm running for Congress to help make sure that doesn't happen – to stop reckless spending and reverse the costly and destructive expansion of government.
As your Representative
- I will vote to rebuild the economy by reducing individual income tax so Americans can keep, spend and invest more of their earnings.
- The country needs healthcare reform, but the recently passed government overhaul is a multi-trillion-dollar disaster. I will vote to replace it with a plan that's affordable, competitive and puts individual citizens, not federal bureaucrats, in charge of their medical decisions.
- I will vote to promote prosperity and job growth through business tax cuts and the reduction of government red tape that strangles the entrepreneurial spirit.
- U.S. industry doesn't require taxpayer subsidies to produce the energy our country needs. I will vote to begin an American Energy Renaissance based on proven coal-conversion technologies and the environmentally sensible production of domestic oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear power.
- By avoiding its constitutional responsibility the federal government has caused a crisis on our nation's borders. I will vote to secure our borders so law enforcement can deal more effectively with the millions of illegal aliens already in the country.
- I will vote to keep our military the strongest in the world. I will be unambiguous in my backing of America's allies – including Israel – and adamant in my opposition to giving foreign terrorists rights reserved for American citizens.
The Democrat incumbent and his friends in Washington have forgotten who pays the bills and who bears the burdens of their corrupt schemes.
With your support in the Republican Primary on Tuesday, September 14, we will have accountable government, economic growth - and a legacy freedom to hand on to our children and grandchildren.
